Introduction to Transnational Education and International Partnerships

What's is the event? 

This training workshop is one of three online training sessions offered to providers in the UK TNE Quality Scheme. The training sessions are tailored to staff at different levels of experience and expertise. Each session is repeated later in the year.

The training sessions are participative and include opportunities to engage, share and discuss ideas and themes with participants from other providers. 

Starting to work in TNE can seem challenging. There are multiple types of TNE arrangements, located in many different regulatory landscapes and cultures which can appear complex. This training session aims to break down some of this complexity and give participants an understanding of terminology, the UK regulatory landscape for TNE and look at some of the key considerations when engaging in TNE.

• Overview of terminology used in TNE and international partnerships including different types of arrangement 
• Consideration of the UK regulatory requirements for TNE provision
• An overview of the stages of the TNE partnership journey
  • Know yourself (UK Provider reflection)
  • Due Diligence
  • Setting up a partnership
  • Managing a partnership
  • Reviewing and developing a partnership 

Why attend?

Develop your knowledge and understanding of TNE including terminology and regulatory responsibilities as well as what is involved when working in TNE.

Engage with staff from other providers, sharing perspectives, challenges and successes based on real practice.

Who this event is for?

This event is open and free to all staff at providers who have signed up to the UK TNE Quality Scheme. 

This training session is for staff who are new to or have recently started working in TNE and International partnerships. It may also be relevant to staff working in providers aiming to move in this area.  Given the focus on the level of experience it is relevant to anyone working in this area including

• Staff working in Global teams (centrally or at faculty level)
• Academic staff including those in link tutor and support roles 
• Professional Services teams and student union staff involved in supporting TNE arrangements 
• Quality Assurance and Enhancement staff 
• Staff working in Registry
