About this event

Executive and senior leaders face rising pressure to make rapid, defensible decisions about quality, governance and institutional sustainability. This retreat offers rare, protected time away from operational demands to recalibrate your strategic focus, stress test priorities with peers, and develop fresh thought leadership for the sector.

De Vere Cotswold Water Park exterior of building overlooking the lake.

Designed exclusively for PVCs and equivalent level senior leaders with overall responsibility for teaching and learning/education, the retreat provides a high trust environment where you can compare approaches with peers and contribute to forward-thinking conversations and leadership, informed by current sector intelligence and emerging risks.

With the exception of travel, all accommodation and meal costs will be covered by QAA, in what will be a warm and welcoming yet strategic event, focused on sector priorities.

About the Retreat

The programme is built around intelligence led, future focused conversations informed by QAA’s latest sector analysis, policy signals and risk insights. You will collaborate with peers to discuss and challenge assumptions in the context of real institutional pressures, and compare and exchange strategic insights that strengthen resilience and decision‑making.

Themes include financial leadership and portfolio change, externality in academic standards, data driven oversight, managing regulatory risk and the implications of generative AI for academic standards.

You will leave with more insight to:

  • Apply informed oversight that connects financial, academic, and regulatory considerations into coherent strategic decision‑making.
  • Prioritise evidence‑led judgement that balances data, externality, and context to guide proportionate and confident oversight.
  • Strengthen organisational cultures and capabilities that protect academic standards while enabling innovation and long‑term resilience.

Register today to join fellow PVC and equivalent level senior leaders with overall responsibility for teaching and learning / education in shaping smarter, more resilient institutional decision-making.
